"WHO IS
LANG DULAY?"

- A Dreamweaver's Story

Lang Dulay was born on the 3rd of August, 1928. She was a T'boli princess who hailed from a distinguished dynasty of rulers in her tribe. Her hometown is Sitio Tukolefa in Lamdalag, South Cotabato. T'nalak was a valued product at the time because it could be traded for water buffaloes or horses. T'nalak cloth is regarded as an outstanding form of dowry that can be utilized to make women's garments.

Lang Dulay is a Gawad Manlilikha ng Bayan Awardee (National Living Treasure Awardee), the T'boli people's master dream weaver, and a living T'nalak weaving master. Lang Dulay, who received the National Living Treasure Award from then-President Fidel V. Ramos in 1998, is now in her 90s but still weaves the T'nalak, the province of South Cotabato's most sought after cultural icon.
